The piece appears fully three-dimensional to the naked eye via a custom lens that is affixed to each display. The display has a 40 degree field of view. During assembly, each piece requires individual calibration by hand and therefore is inherently unique and not reproducible or transferrable. The display is enclosed in an aluminum frame with glass front.

This piece is an 8"x10" handmade digital canvas with custom 3D display. Glasses, a computer, or other hardware are not required to see the artwork in 3D.
3D perception is correct when the viewer is in front of the display, plus or minus ~20 degrees, at distances greater than one meter. Viewing the display from other angles does not yield physically-accurate 3D perception. See the diagram in the images for more information.
The piece is fully self-contained. No assembly is required.
